Mercedes-Benz is on a curvy design high.  The 3-pointed star car brand churns out new visual designs in quick succession.  The Mercedes-Benz C-Class coupé is the latest to receive the new curvy look.

Can the new C-Class coupé seduce the heart and the mind?

That is what it’s designed to do.  A sedan or estate makes more practical sense, but a coupé addresses the visual and emotional senses.

The sensual design aims to draw admiring looks to cut a fine figure wherever it goes… like a tailored-fit tracksuit.

The C-Class coupé plays the high-class appeal game, facing competition from other German brands who have their own compact sports-exec coupé showroom magnets.

On the inside, the modern C-Class interior is given some sportier styling as befits the 2-door car, and thanks to a longer wheelbase, the interior space is more.

The same advanced safety features found in other C-Class will be available in this body shape.

What is the C-Class coupé model line-up?

The company statement, which applies to international markets, lists a C180 coupé, C200 coupé, C250 coupé, C250d coupé and C300 coupé.  Thus far all are 4-cylinder engines, familiar from the C-Class sedan and estate, which also means their engines will be phased into the new C-Class coupé, including a likely C450 AMG coupé using the V6 turbo.

Any news on the Mercedes-AMG C63 coupé?

Well… the much-anticipated Mercedes-AMG C63 coupé is merely a matter of time, with AMG already showing preview temptations of a disguised car on its website.  Look forward to this shapely shape, beefed up to a more aggressive look, and that 4.0 V8 turbo as available in C63 sedan and AMG GT.

Will this C-Class coupé come to South Africa?

For sure.  The international markets is said to start receiving the new C-Class coupé from December 2015, so local arrival should be around mid 2016.
