New baby-Jeep Renegade entry price dropped, and full line-up now available

Have you been following the hype on the Jeep Renegade?  When it finally arrived, you possibly went excitedly to the dealer’s Renegade launch event in May 2015?

You may have fallen instantly in love with the baby-Jeep… but you found 2 disappointments.  1, only the 1.4L T Limited manual was available at launch (even if the Jeep Renegade 1.4L T Limited Launch Edition reviewed had free extra equipment) and 2, the prices were just out of reach of your baby-Jeep ownership dream.

Well, double good news.

Full line-up avaiable

If you have been eyeing the Trailhawk model but didn’t find it on your Fiat dealer showroom floor, then the good news is the full line-up is now available. 

Some bright colours like yellow and orange are available as per the Jeep Wrangler, and the same Anvil grey-green for that butch bush-baby look, or add the US Army star for that soldier look.  Even an avocado green is offered to camouflage in the greens, or get yourself a little red Renegade to go into the bush.

Worldwide demand far exceeded supply, and the local Fiat team brought in what they could source for stock.

A quick overview of the full line-up, now finally available.  Base model is the 1.6L Longitude as the price leader, followed by the Limited spec linked to a choice of 3 drivetrains:  1.4L T Limited manual front-wheel drive with 103kW and 230Nm, 1.6L Multijet turbo diesel quoted at 88kW and 320Nm linked to manual front-wheel drive, or if you want your Jeep to be 4x4 and automatic, you’d want to get the more powerful 1.4L T upped to 125kW and 250Nm driven through a 9-speed auto and all 4 wheels.  The Trailhawk top model is paired to a 2.4-litre 137kW / 232Nm non-turbo engine and also has the 9-speed auto, which, being a Trailhawk, is 4x4.

The 1.4L T 4x4 Limited model has been given leather upholstery, which was an option previously, standard as of October 2015, and a price adjustment.

Entry price dropped

In other words, the Renegade 1.6L Longitude model is now cheaper, revised down from R 340 990 to R 316 990, but keeping the same spec.  That is a good R 24 000 saving.
