MINI Seven
The MINI Seven is the first MINI design model of the new-generation MINI Hatch. The new MINI Seven is alimited edition, with an expression of premium characteristics and individual style, as it gets exclusive exterior and interior design features.
Why “Seven”?
Tradition-steeped, it is named after the Austin Seven, which was the first production model of the original classic Mini in 1959.
Seven, Seven 7, MINI Seven?
The name is cumbersome/confusing: MINI Seven 3-door or MINI Seven 5-door, available in Cooper or Cooper S. So it’s a MINI Seven Cooper 3-door or is it MINI Cooper 3-door MINI Seven… and the badges on the front side and door sills show a Seven script and numeral 7. MINI Seven 7, then? Well, on the MINI Seven webpage they show these as MINI Seven Edition. Oh dear.
Specifics for Seven 7
The specific exterior design on MINI Seven includes the car painted in the MINI Yours individualisation programme’s Lapisluxury Blue which has a special brilliance thanks to a special paint process. It is a non-metallic deep blue, based on the colour ultramarine, which is regarded as “the blue of kings” originally produced by adding fine pigment traces of the semi-precious stone lapis lazuli.
3 other paints are available, namely Pepper White, Midnight Black metallic or doesn’t-get-more-British-than-that British Racing Green metallic, as 3 classic colour range options in which the exterior is given “stylish yet discreet emphasis”.
The mirror caps and roof are painted Melting Silver, and the bonnet stripes are optional, also in Melting Silver, and edged in a brownish-reddish colour. MINI Seven 2-tone spoked alloys are bolted on.
The interior ambience is made more exclusive, with seats in the Diamond Malt Brown, meaning the oblique grey and black cloth pattern from other MINI Hatch models, but finished here in a discreetly integrated Malt Brown pinstripe and seams. Interior surfaces are Piano Black, while as an option colour line Malt Brown covers the L-shaped dash-console inserts. Other selected interior combinations, including leather upholstery, are optional.
These are confirmed to become available to order at your local MINI dealer from July 2016, though Rand pricing has not been revealed yet.
