Like the Hyundai Veloster but wish it had more power? Veloster Turbo local prices+specs here

If you saw the arrival of the sporty Hyundai Veloster and perhaps went for a test-drive only to find its 1.6-litre engine lacking in power… we have good news for you.  Hyundai SA will soon launch the Veloster Turbo, with power and torque upped from 103kW and 150kW and 167Nm to 265Nm.

The 1.6 GDIT engine is also noteworthy – it is the company’s first petrol turbo car made available here.

The Hyundai Veloster Turbo is offered in manual 6-speed gearbox and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds, or with the automated 6-speed transmission achieving a quicker 7.4 sec.

The Veloster Turbo features the standard car’s unique 1+2 door layout but with the addition of visual enhancements designed to give the car an even more athletic and purposeful look – the front bumper, grille and front fog lights are new to the Turbo, and the rear gets a revised bumper which includes round twin exhausts (instead of the standard car’s single trapezoidal exhaust tips) and a diffuser.

Pricing for the Hyundai Veloster Turbo manual is R 379 900 and for the automatic it is R 399 900.
