Lamborghini Huracán LP 580-2 added, with enhanced driving emotion (with SA price)
Lamborghini is presenting its Lamborgini Huracán LP 580-2 as a new model specifically designed for its rear-wheel drive setup, and a package for enhanced Lamborghini driving emotion.
Huracán LP 580-2
Let the numbers do the talking. 580 is for the horsepower, and 2 is for 2-wheel-drive. This is the new entry-level 426kW rear-wheel-drive addition to the Lamborghini Huracán supercar.
What was done with its Gallardo predecessor is now similarly applied to the Huracán. A slightly lower output, but still properly powerful, and rather than 4-wheel-drive, this rear-wheel-drive.
President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini says this new model fits perfectly into the Huracán family, and appeals to those wanting an even more intense driving experience, or to those who currently drive rear-wheel-drive cars from other marques and aspire to drive a Lamborghini.
The dry weight is 33kg lighter (1389kg) than the 4-wheel-drive model, and weight distribution is 40% front / 60% rear, reducing inertia on the front axle, and adding traction over the rear tyres.
Modified suspension and steering and recalibrated stability and traction control turns this Lamborghini into a car for serious drivers who want maximum driving fun, connecting the driver to the road as directly as possible.
New look
The front and rear of the Huracán LP 580-2 have been redesigned, which is said to accent a young, fresh and more assertive look, and highlights its aeronautic styling. Newly-formed large front air intakes, a rear spoiler lip and rising rear diffuser mean the Huracán does not need a movable rear spoiler.
The Kari rims are in 19” size (1 less than the LP 610-4’s 20-inch rims) to enhance the car’s dynamic expression.
Probable best to put the Huracán LP 580-2 and LP 610-4 side-by-side on your screen, to compare.
Obviously it is fast
With 426kW and 540Nm, for sure. The Lamborghini Doppia Frizione (LDF) 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox makes for the fastest gear changes. Launch control is included for the maximum acceleration from a standing start. The effect? 0-100km/h in 3.4 seconds (only 0.2 less than the 610-4). Maximum velocity – a full 200mph / 320km/h.
Price
Here is its SA price. The Lamborghini Huracán LP 580-2 = R 4 500 000.
