Isuzu KB X-Rider – this year’s special edition from the bakkie specialists

In the recent past, every year Isuzu issued a special edition of their KB bakkie – in 2014 the Midnite Edition was made available (featuring blacked-out trim) and in 2015 the Serengeti, with yellow-orange flashes (recalling the Serengeti wilderness of Africa) went on sale.  This year, they released the KB X-Rider.

The KB X-Rider newcomer can be readily identified by a number of visual cues:  stylish 6-spoke 2-tone black and diamond-cut (high-sheen surface) 18-inch alloys with red centre cap lettering and shod with 255/60 R18 all-terrain tyres, black tubular side steps and black sports (roll) bar (both with X-Rider badging), black front bumper guard, uprated towbar with a 2.1-ton braked-trailer capacity, LED daytime running lights, and the ISUZU grille lettering in red.

The luxury of leather seats is added, with the X-Rider logo embroidered on the front headrests, and detail enhancements are red stitching on the gearlever gaiter, steering wheel and the seats, while piano black (gloss black) inserts embellish the doors, sound system, gearshift console and cabin air vents.  The door trim inserts feature a bold red X motif.  The leather-trimmed steering wheel stands out thanks to the red stitching and red Isuzu badge in its centre.

“Our aim with the X-Rider is to offer real value and individuality in a brand which is well known for toughness, reliability and comfort” are the words from GMSA.

Isuzu (the bakkie specialists) added a new special value model to their light commercial vehicle range – the KB X-Rider special edition is based on the 250 Hi-Rider 4x2 (strangely, the X-Rider is not in 4x4 models) in extended cab and double cab body styles.

These prices are R 18 500 and R 21 980 more than the Hi-Rider models these are based on.  Both Isuzu KB X-Rider are now available from dealers.
