Ferrari Owners Club returns to new Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit
The annual Ferrari Owners Club track day was put on hold during the time the Kyalami race track was being revamped, so there was no event in 2015. Good news is that, on Saturday 23 July 2016, the Ferrari marque makes a return to the new Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, in Midrand, South Africa.
Possibly the largest gathering of Ferrari cars in the southern hemisphere, SEFAC (Southern Equitorial Ferrari Automobili Club) is organising a re-instatement of this event.
This day is one occasion where owners and fans alike can have track driving, passenger or spectator access to a big count of Ferrari. SEFAC expects 200+ Ferrari to be present on this day.
Kyalami track has been resurfaced, the main pit building (pits and upstairs areas) completely renovated and modernised, so a turnout second-to-none is expected.
Cars expected to be present is a selection of the all-new Ferrari 488 GTB and 488 Spider, a unique 250 GT racecar from the 60s, the “fire-breathing” F40, demo runs from the 360 Challenge series, and a good mix of everything from the recent classic Ferraris like the 308 GTB / 308 GTS to F355, and some V12s like the F12berlinetta…
Entrance to the public is R50 per person, while children under 12 enter for free. Tickets can be bought at www.itickets.co.za or at the gate.
Gates open at 09:00 and close at 15:00, and one of the highlights in the Ferrari day tradition is the assembly of all cars on the track for a stationary photo around lunchtime.
