Expanded range - Nissan Navara

The Nissan Navara range of double cab bakkies gains a sibling with the introduction of the 4x2 variant, while the entire range has been tweaked with improvements to insulation and reductions to engine noise, vibration and harshness.

The Nissan Navara has a spacious interior, spinal support seats, Bluetooth audio streaming and Navigation standard across the range and an intelligent key with stop/start button.

It is also the first pickup to offer a coil spring five-link rear suspension fitted to its solid ladder-frame chassis in a mainstream 1-ton pick-up.

The Navara also has a payload capacity of more than 1 ton and can tow a braked trailer up to 3,5 tons.

It is available with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed automatic gearbox, which features gear ratios selected to specifically optimise the torque delivery of the twin turbo engine and also offers a manual shifting function.

The on-board navigation system with 3D mapping and live traffic updates which is standard across the range, includes radio – with up to 30 pre-set radio stations, video in DVD/VCD/CD/MP3 or MPEG4 format, USB connectivity and Bluetooth with audio streaming – all operated from the steering wheel.

The Navara has a 229 mm ground clearance, but the raised suspension set-up and smart design have allowed for a 3-degree improvement in the approach (33,0 degrees), ramp-over (25,2 degrees) and departure angles (27,9 degrees).

The list of standard luxuries includes automatic LED headlights, dual-zone air-conditioning, cruise control, three 12V sockets in the cabin, an automatic dimming rear view mirror and seven air bags (including an air bag to protect the driver’s knees).

The twin turbo 2,3-litre intercooled engine combines 140 kW of power with 450 Nm of torque available from 1 500 r/min.

The Navara 4x2 DC has a warranty of 6-year/150 000 km and a 3-year/90 000 km service plan.
