Dezzi Raceway to host AutoStyle’s annual Motorshow

The AutoStyle Motorshow is one of KZN’s largest annual car show. This year AutoStyle is taking it a bit south with Dezzi Raceway as the venue. It’s a one-day only event that’s taking place this Sunday, 17th September.
It is the first time in 14 years that the AutoStyle Motorshow is taking place at Dezzi Raceway. The motorshow is host to apparently “the world’s largest subwoofer, SA’s biggest, 400 strong show n shine, gymkhana grid ‘drum dash’ and a spin box.”
What visitors can expect:
Jack Hammer, which is the the world’s largest subwoofer was brought in by MTX South Africa. This is the first time Jack Hammer will be touching African soil and will be on display at the show.
In addition to this, the sound competition will allow cars to run head to head in a sound-off. Two sound meters will be used and is also another first for the event.
According to an organiser, Prethiven Naidoo, this year they are hoping to break last years show ‘n shine record of 400 cars. Car clubs and crews are expected to attend from Johannesburg and Cape Town.
Drum Dash is hosting a drift competition. One local drifter will have the opportunity to win a golden ticket to compete in the Gymkhana Grid alongside Ken Block at Carnival City in November. Drift organiser, Darren Lewis said, “We are the only event in KZN to give drivers this opportunity – people will love to see what competitive gymkhana drifting looks like.”
AutoTrader will also be exhibiting at the show and is pleased to be involved again.
“This event is so well attended each year and a great opportunity for us to introduce more people to our trusted motoring marketplace” – AutoTrader CEO George Mienie.
Other exhibitors, 40 expected, at the show include Speed and Sound Magazine, Gas Magazine, KZN Drag Racing, MTX and many many more.
For more entertainment, there will also be a mobile dyno, suicide rides, and a spin box. The spin box will have two spin car drivers display their skills.
There will several prize giveaways throughout the day that include the new Dunlop FM800 tyres, 247 Race Fuel hampers, and more.
The AutoStyle Motorshow usually pulls a crowd of over 12,000 people and R60 will get you in. Parking is free. Halaal food will be catered and no alcohol will be permitted into the event.
