Auto Trader Mandela Day
Auto Trader brings traffic relief on Mandela Day
Randburg motorists were all smiles on Nelson Mandela Day as Auto Trader staff set out at 6am to greet them with freshly brewed coffee.
Set-up with a mobile coffee machine parked on the side of Bram Fischer Drive and with eager Auto Trader staff running through traffic, about 1 000 happy motorists started their day on the right foot. Auto Trader Managing Director George Mienie, who was one of the coffee-runners on Thursday and designated tweeter, said it was the least they could do for their 67 minutes for Mandela Day.
“Our former president believed in striving to make people’s lives endurable and in this wintery cold morning, Auto Trader would like to extend a warm gesture to our hardworking neighbours in traffic and bring smiles to their morning,” said Mienie. Motorists were honking their horns in thanksgiving as steamed coffee was brought to them to enjoy.
