Latest Information on Toyota Conquest
Back in the late 80s there was a fight for the largest market share among Toyota, Volkswagen and Ford. Competing with the Toyota Conquest was the VW Citi Golf/ Chico Golf and the Ford Laser. The Conquest was available in a 1.3- and 1.6-litre engine both producing 53 kW. Twin cam versions later offered 96 kW. The second generation Conquest, launched in 1996, was labelled as the Toyota Conquest Tazz and was very low specced. The vehicle was only presented in a four-speed manual and a few years later were made in a five-speed. In 2000 a facelift and name change to Toyota Tazz occurred with model dissolution taking place in 2006.
