The Opel Calibra is a coupé that was produced between 1989 and 1997. It was also sold under the badges of Chevrolet, Holden and Vauxhall. It was manufactured in the Opel factory in Rüsselsheim, Germany, and the Valmet Automotive factory in Uusikaupunki, Finland. The car disappeared rapidly but during its lifespan, 239,118 units were built. The Calibra was a popular car in its time and rode on the success of the Cavalier. It made use of underpinnings/running gear from the first generation Opel Vectra. The coupé revolutionised the market segment it competed in. The Calibra was sold in South Africa between 1992 and 1994.
