Latest Information on Jaguar X-Type
The X-Type was a compact luxury car, and the smallest Jaguar in the line-up, which was produced between 2001 and 2009. The X-type was developed during a time when Jaguar was owned by Ford. The X-Type was based on a platform used on the Ford Mondeo and meant to compete in the entry-level luxury sedan segment against none other than BMW and Audi. The automaker had set a goal of selling 100,000 X-Type cars per year which they never met. The X-Type received many mixed reviews with some even thinking that the model was just a Ford in disguise and that they were cheapening the Jaguar brand.
