The city car was first produced in 1980 and had several years of breaks in between where production had stopped. The Nuova Panda, Italian for new, has had a production of 6.5 million units over its lifespan. The long-running 1.2-litre engine is said to be the cheapest and the best while the punchier 0.9 TwinAir is the most captivating which is developed in-house and factory installed in Italy. The third generation Panda’s top range model is the Panda Cross, based on the Panda 4x4 but with a tad bit of deiffrent styling.
