Suzuki Auto SA recently hosted their eighth annual Weekend Away in Hazyview, Mpumalanga.

“It all started in 2011 when Suzuki South Africa decided to have a Suzuki Weekend Away, an event for the customers to spend time with Suzuki staff and dealers. It opens up channels of communication so the head office team can find out what both dealers and consumers are looking for in sales and aftersales,” says Stuart Baker, head of Suzuki Motorcycles SA.

Suzuki Auto South Africa takes demo units with and these are available for test rides during the Weekend. There are also cars from the auto side for test drives.

Suzuki bike riders – and drivers of the Suzuki Swift – met at Hotel Numbi in Hazyview on the Friday afternoon. After dinner, guests were briefed about the following day’s activities.

On Saturday morning  the Suzuki team handed out route maps with directions for the day. There were a few stops with fun games along the way, but mostly it was about riding and driving in beautiful Mpumalanga.

“Sadly we cannot share the games and activities that took place at the Suzuki Weekend Away, as they were only for people who attended,” says Baker. “But ask anyone who has attended one of these and they will tell you that it is a must-do event. We have had many repeat visitors over the years and are open to riders of all makes of motorcycles.”
