Following the inaugural Honda Quest True Adventure event in 2017, Honda Motorcycles South Africa has again partnered with Specialised Adventures to present the 2018 Honda Quest True Adventure. Entries are now open for the competition that Honda describes as the ultimate adventure motorcycle competition held on the ultimate adventure motorcycle, their CRF1000L Africa Twin.

We are looking for the true adventure riders of Southern Africa,” says Barend Fouché, head of Honda Motorcycles South Africa. “Men and women of courage who are adventurous, don’t shy away from physical and mental challenges, take the initiative and function as part of a team.

Quest is not a race or a rally, it is an adventure expedition, designed to test human endurance and adaptability. Finalists will be tested on their adventure-motorcycle riding, mechanical skills, as well as their endurance, courage, and resilience against the African terrain.”

After receipt of the entries, Honda Motorcycles Southern Africa, along with Specialised Adventures, will select 30 applicants to attend the Quest Boot Camp that will take place in Cape Town from 1 to 3 October 2018.

At Boot Camp the instructors will select 14 finalists who will be divided intor seven two-person teams to participate in the Quest True Adventure. This 10-day, 2 500km off-road expedition will be held in the Northern and Western Cape from 19 October.

Participation in the Honda Quest True Adventure 2018 is free, but the participants will have to cover their own travel costs to and from Cape Town for Boot Camp and Quest.

Apart from carrying the title of winning Quest True Adventure 2018, the members of the winning team will each win the Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin that they used during the Quest True Adventure event.”
