BMW showcases novice rider training course
Not everyone knows that BMW Motorrad, the motorcycle division of the German car maker, also has a rider academy. It shares premises with the BMW Driving Experience, the car division’s academy, at the Zwartkops Raceway, west of Pretoria.
Earlier this month, BMW Motorrad held a special introduction at Zwartkops to showcase the Academy.
“We hosted a number of influencers and journalists from lifestyle media to a novice riding event at BMW’s Rider Academy at the Zwartkops Raceway,” says Hailey Philander, communications specialist for BMW Motorrad.
“The event was targeted at people and publications who had no motorcycling experience and who were keen to learn to ride in a non-threatening environment. Our guests were also exposed to BMW’s recently-introduced G310 R.”
The G310 R replaced the small Japanese motorcycles that the Academy had used before in the novice courses.
Hailey says their guests also got to learn more about the range of courses on offer to both experienced and inexperienced riders at the Rider Academy.
