Hi there,
Each bank will check your credit worthiness, that doesn't leave a mark on your credit score. They assess the current score and give you an answer almost instantly. If they go through the process of creating the loan that counts as an application and will therefore go on your credit record for 6 months. You can take this route but it does involve going to each bank individually and seeing what type of finance options they have on offer. We have found the best way to go about the process is to find the car that you want first and then have the dealership F&I department do that for you. The data set attached to the vehicle and your credit score will be what the banks will use to offer up a loan and most of them will be within a percent or two of eachother.
Hope this helps,
