Hi there!
Seeing as the problem first manifested within the first few days of ownership (and then recurred after a round of repairs), you are absolutely entitled to return the car and cancel the transaction.
Your premise of the CPA indeed allows you demand this: They have the options to either repair the car to your satisfaction (which they couldn't do), or replace the car with another of similar value (if you want), or take back the car and reimburse you for your purchase. Especially so, since the issue started within days of delivery, and the dealership could not repair the car - and, importantly, the occurences would have been documented as proof.
If you meet any resistance from the dealership, discuss the matter with a car finance expert at your back (so put pressure from the finance house on the dealership), and if this doesn't help, consult a lawyer for assistance.
Hope this helps, and good luck in your quest for justice!
