Hi there
Whatever you do, just make sure that the Audi or VW on your shopping list doesn't have a DSG/R-Tronic gearbox, as those tend to age very badly - and your extended warranty won't cover its repairs, because clutches are seen as wear items.
This immediately rules out most Audis, which have mostly been available only in S-Tronic form for the past few years. If that Golf R-Line has a manual gearbox, it will however serve you faithfully for a long time with minimum hassles.
