Hi there
Between these three, it would be a draw between the CX-5 and RAV4, purely due to the X-Trail's CVT. It's nice and smooth in traffic, but it does add about 1 litre/100 km to the car's average consumption in mixed-cycle driving. Experience with the mechanically identical Renault Koleos has shown it to struggle to drop below 9 litre/100 km in conversative driving, and adding yet more traffic to the mix will increase this number even further.
