Hi there
As we discovered when researching an article about the RAV4's depreciation, this model (the current-generation) suffers quite steep initial depreciation, but this then stabilises for the next few years. Obviously the new model (2019-on) did have an effect on the previous-generation model's value retention, and combined with their age, the value of those took another knock in recent years. The upside is that you could get a used, previous-generation RAV4 for not too much money, and it will certainly depreciate a lot slower from here on than a used Nissan or Mazda CX-5 of similar age. That's the brand power of Toyota speaking...
