Hi there
We ran an in-depth search for Mercedes-Benz C-Class cars fitting your description on AutoTrader's listing pages, and found only one example on site that falls within those parameters at the time of this answer. It would appear that your mileage requirement is barely attainable within your specified price range, which means significantly fewer possibilities - either the available cars will have higher mileage, or they will cost more than you're likely willing to pay.
Is it a good idea to buy such a C-Class? Certainly, but with some provisos. Firstly, you need to be aware that those cars are reaching the age where expensive things are likely to start going wrong, and their maintenance plans (if applicable) are about to run out, so adding an aftermarket warranty (mechanical breakdown insurance) to the finance deal is a must have item.
There are some inherent weaknesses to Mercedes's 4-cylinder petrol engines from this era, and they're likely to give hassles within the next 50 000 km. This includes the camshaft drive chain setup and camshaft sprockets, as well a turbo problems waiting to happen. Other than that, they're lovely cars. Just be aware that keeping one running for a few years may turn out to be an expensive exercise.
Hope this helps!
