Hi there
The non-turbo GDI engine is engineered to run on fuel with the highest available octane rating, on account of its very high compression ratio. However, it's also designed to allow the use of lower-grade fuel (such as 93), but doing so will result in a drop in performance and an increase in fuel consumption. Running it on 93 over an extended period is not advisable, and will not save you any money in the long run either.
Hope this helps!
