Hi there
It's quite understandable that you'd want a Land Rover Range Rover Sport, especially since they become really affordable on the used-car market after a few years. However, there's a good reason for this: not even the rich people who can buy them new are prepared to put up with their high running costs once the maintenance plan has expired.
And there lies the rub: yes, they are not very expensive to buy used, but they do cost a fortune to keep running. Loaded with finnicky electronic things, air suspension, high-tech engines and gearboxes, there's a lot of potential failure points. And because humans made them, something is bound to fail - and when it does, fixing it will be expensive.
Also know that they aren't fully depreciated yet - their resale value in 5 years will likely be half of what you'll be paying now. This is proven by history, where decade-old Range Rovers now sell of a small fraction of what they cost new. In the long run, you'll be better off with a Toyota Fortuner or an Ford Everest (or Toyota Hilux or Ford Ranger), because they will retain more value in 5 years, and cost you much less to operate for the time you will own one.
Hope this helps!
