I would like to know if a car that is financed by the bank, require a technical and roadworthy certificate, before

Good day
Our car which was financed 7 months ago, and only 6800km was driven. Upon the 150 000km service we asked the BOCH technician to un a diacnostic test to check the issues on the car as there as some issues we picked up. When the report came back the car had incurred R34 000 in repairs, and the technician advised that the car is not safe to drive. We contacted the finance provider as well as the warranty we had on the car they advised that thre is nothing they can do and warranty does not cover the items that was picked up through diacnostics. I queried this as the problems on the car could not have occured in the amount of Kilometers its been driven. When investigated it ws found that the roadworthy certificate was issued 5 days after the car left the dealer and numerouse discrepancies was found in thepaper trail. Please advise if this is comman practice and if a technical inspection is to accompany the application when applying for finance?
We need assistance as the bank and CFC is giving us the run around and we have little knowledge as to what is actually going on?

Hi there

You're not in luck regarding the timeframe of your problems - that 7-month period is well past the point where the Consumer Protection Act would help you out. Perhaps your best bet would be to contact the Motoring Industry Ombudsman. You can find their details on their website at https://www.miosa.co.za/
