You ask a very interesting question here, because the two cars are functionally almost identical. Sure, the new Vivo has a bit less sound proofing, but it's hardly a noisy thing even without it. And the 1.2 TSi does have more power and torque, but the 1.4-litre in the Vivo is very cheap to keep running over a long period - certainly bound to be cheaper than the 1.2 TSi, at least. Their interior appointments are largely the same, although the Vivo does lose out on the electric rear windows and rear-view mirrors of the TSi.
In the end, it comes down to your own preference. The TSi is probably the superior car for the money (especially with similar mileage), but the Vivo will give you lower running costs and a year younger car - so that's the clever way to spend your money.
