Hello there
One of the Brio's main selling points is its excellent fuel economy, so if yours is that heavy on fuel, there must be something else amiss. Have the dealership check the car's condition for any malfunctions or poor adjustments as soon as possible.
When you approach the dealership, have the car's log book handy, showing how many kilometers the car can travel between fuel stops, and how much fuel was added when refueling - going there and telling them that "it used half a tank on xxxx kilometers" is completely meaningless - you have to show actual consumption figures, measured from full tank to empty to full tank. Don't trust the trip computer (if fitted) without a pinch of salt, either...
What we can tell you is that the L12B i-VTEC engine as used in the Brio has a high compression ratio of 10.2:1, which indicates that it would prefer to run on the highest possible octane fuel you can find. In South Africa, that means 95 octane unleaded fuel. Changing to 93 will in all likelihood make your consumption problem even worse.
Hope this helps!
