Hello there
That average consumption seems to be pretty much in the ballpark for a car of this type and architecture (fairly heavy hatchback with a manual gearbox and normally-aspirated 1600 petrol engine). You're unlikely to see much better than this, but it's no better or worse than most other cars of this configuration.
