Hi there
The engine sounds differ between the Golf GTI and the Passat, for one simple reason: The Golf is tuned to sound sporty, and the Passat is tuned to be as quiet as an executive's car should be. So, while there are similarities to their soundtracks, the Passat 2.0 TSI sounds nothing like a Golf GTI. However, there's still a trace of the Golf's signature Vrrr-pha sound under hard acceleration, although you'd struggle to really notice it.
Hope this helps!
